Dentures are a reliable and cost-effective option for replacing missing teeth, helping to restore your smile, improve chewing, and support clearer speech. At Oswyn House Dental Practice, we offer high-quality full and partial dentures that are designed for comfort, durability, and a natural appearance.
Whether you’re missing a few teeth or a full arch, we’ll work with you to create a custom solution that suits your needs and lifestyle. Our experienced team ensures your dentures fit securely and comfortably, so you can smile, eat, and speak with confidence again. While dentures do take some time to adjust to and may not offer the same stability as dental implants, they remain a trusted solution for many patients.
Dentures remain a widely used, effective solution for replacing missing teeth and improving quality of life.
Restores your smile and facial balance – Custom-designed for a natural look that supports your facial shape.
Improves chewing and speech – Helping you to enjoy food and speak more clearly.
A cost-effective tooth replacement option – A more affordable alternative to implants, with personalised care and fit.
At your first visit, we’ll examine your mouth, take impressions or digital scans, and discuss the type of denture best suited for your needs: metal, flexible, acrylic, full, partial, or implant-supported.
We’ll create a personalised treatment plan and communicate this to the lab.
If any teeth need to be removed, we will discuss whether an immediate denture (fitted on the same day as extraction) or a delayed denture (fitted after healing) is best for you.
You’ll have a chance to try in a wax version of your denture. This allows us to check the fit, bite, and appearance before the final denture is made. Adjustments can be made to ensure everything feels and looks right.
Your custom-made denture is fitted, adjusted for comfort, and polished for a natural appearance.
We’ll review your dentures after fitting to ensure comfort and function. Minor adjustments are often needed as your mouth adapts.
We’ll give you advice on cleaning, storing, and maintaining your dentures. Regular check-ups are important to keep your gums and any remaining teeth healthy. Over time, dentures may need relining or replacement to maintain the best fit.
Yes, though it may take time to get used to eating certain foods. Cutting food into smaller pieces and chewing evenly can help during the adjustment period.
While they won’t feel exactly like natural teeth, modern dentures are designed for comfort and function. Most patients adjust within a few weeks.
Dentures should be removed and cleaned daily with a soft brush and denture cleaner. It’s also important to clean your gums and maintain regular oral health assessments.
With proper care, dentures typically last 5–10 years. Over time, they may need to be relined, adjusted, or replaced due to natural changes in your gums and jaw.
