We’re pleased to welcome Dr Ashley Peile to Oswyn House Dental Practice.

Ashley’s work is focused on endodontics: treating problems with a painful or infected nerve inside a tooth through root canal treatment.

Ashley grew up in Northern Ireland and qualified as a dentist in Belfast in 2006.

He began his career in Welshpool and has worked in the Shropshire and Powys area ever since.

After more than ten years in general dentistry, Ashley chose to focus on providing root canal treatment.

He completed a two-year Diploma in Endodontics at King’s College London, graduating with Distinction in 2018, and went on to complete a Master’s degree in Endodontics.

His practice is now limited to endodontics, treating patients referred by their own dentists.

Why does having someone with Ashley's experience matter?

A lot of root canals are narrow (think 100ths of a millimetre!) making them hard to find and negotiate.

Every root canal is unique and intricate so having a dentist with additional training and experience in endodontics is particularly valuable.

As Oswyn House grows, we want to bring more skills into the practice so that our patients don’t necessarily have to travel elsewhere when their treatment becomes more complicated.

Having Ashley working alongside our existing dentists means we can discuss difficult teeth together and, where appropriate, offer more advanced root canal treatment here in Oswestry.

Outside dentistry, Ashley is kept busy with two young children and enjoys mountain biking and windsurfing when he has a chance. Baking is even messier with a 3 year old and we have heard claims that his chocolate brownies are exceptionally good.

We’re looking forward to welcoming him – and trying those brownies!
