Your frequently asked questions

GBT® is a modern, gentle, and highly effective professional cleaning technique that removes biofilm (plaque), tartar, and stains from your teeth and gums. It combines airflow, ultrasonic cleaning, and polishing for a thorough, comfortable clean.

GBT® is more advanced than traditional scaling. It targets biofilm precisely without damaging enamel or gums, uses air polishing for stain and plaque removal, provides a visual assessment of biofilm before and after treatment using disclosing agents, so you can see the results, and often feels more comfortable than traditional scaling.

Yes. GBT® is safe for most patients, including those with sensitive teeth, implants, crowns, bridges, and orthodontic appliances. Your hygienist will assess your oral health and tailor the treatment to your needs.

GBT® is generally pain-free. Some patients feel mild sensitivity if gums are inflamed, but this is much less discomforting than conventional scaling.

Most sessions take 30–60 minutes, depending on the complexity of the case and whether any additional treatments, such as fluoride application, are included.

For optimal results, most patients benefit from a session every 3–6 months, depending on their oral health, risk of gum disease, and lifestyle factors such as diet and smoking.

Yes. GBT® removes harmful biofilm and reduces inflammation, helping to prevent or manage gingivitis and periodontitis. It’s a key part of maintaining healthy gums.

GBT® removes surface stains from coffee, tea, wine, and smoking, so your teeth often look brighter and cleaner after treatment. For deeper whitening, professional bleaching may still be required.

Maintain good oral hygiene at home: brush twice daily and clean between your teeth, avoid staining foods or drinks for a few hours if polishing was done, and attend regular check-ups to maintain your results.

Yes. GBT® is gentle and suitable for children old enough to cooperate with the procedure. It’s an excellent way to start good oral hygiene habits early.
